Mission, Motto and Your Story

According to the Central Intelligent Agency’s (CIA) The World Fact Book and the United Nations, more than 50% of the people in the world are unemployed or underemployed. These individuals are experiencing “Financial Poverty” because they are unable to pay their bills. The Middle Class Movement (MCM) measures this type of poverty with the Living Wage Index (LWI). These same sources indicate that more than 1 billion children are unable to read a book or sign their name. These individuals are experiencing “Educational Poverty” because they are unable to read at grade level. The MCM measures this type of poverty with the Reading Level Index (RLI).

The Mission of the Middle Class Movement (MCM) is:

To reduce financial and educational poverty by measuring it and promoting job and literacy programs throughout the world.

The MCM motto is:

Jobs Feed Families and Reading Saves Lives!

Your Story

Tell Us About Your Experiences

We want to share the stories/videos of people who have been able to emerge out of financial or educational poverty because of a job or a teacher. Please share your story with us by sending it to MCM founder Dale G. Caldwell at MiddleClassMovement@gmail.com. With your permission, we will use these stories to influence leaders to support policies that create jobs and support reading intervention programs. We will post as many stories as we can on our website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
